DIY Calendar from an Old Picture Frame and Paint Chips

This is a fun project for anyone, especially for the back-to-school kids and college students. Follow the instructions below to make your own dry erase creation.

What you will need:

  • Paint chips or any other colorful paper you have around the house.
  • Scissors
  • An old frame (or new one) with a glass front.
  • A roll of cork for the background (you can use fabric or poster board as well)
  • Elmer's glue
  • Tape
  • Pen/pencil
  • Ruler

Measure your frame to see what size to cut your paint chips at. You will need a total of 42 chips (7 across for the days of the week and 6 down)

Always test out your glue on scrap pieces to make sure it will not bleed out or show through.

While waiting for your test glue to set, trace the back of the frame onto the cork and cut out. You can now arrange your paint chips to see the distance you will need to glue them in place.

Glue all the paint chips down and place the mirror over them

Slide the back of the frame under the cork so that nothing moves when you put it in the frame.

Secure the back.

Now it's time to decorate!
