Giving your house a spring makeover with Cory Michael

I mentioned him last week, and this week I’m back with some more
images of Mr. Cory Michael's work. He uses an amazing technique called faux finishing to give your walls a creative and elegant face-lift. Faux finishing is a form of replicating materials such as marble and wood with paint. As you can see, Cory’s work is something else! Feel free to contact him, and have him help you give your house a spring makeover.

Easy Seasonal Fixes for Updating your Bathroom

We all want to spruce up our homes to keep in touch with the spring season but, looming budget constraints can hold us back. So why not start with a smaller room, and one that we spend quite a lot of time in? The bathroom. A few subtle updates can improve the functionality and look of your favorite, small room. For starters, bathroom accessories can add a fun flare. Add a multi tiered towel rack or an extra towel rod next to your existing one. You can add additional towels and change the color scheme to reflect the seasons. Experiment with different sizes and patterns. Another bathroom essential is the mirror. Try replacing a simple bathroom mirror with a different shape or a decorative frame. A new mirror could be the focal point of the room without overpowering it. Finally, don’t be afraid to accessorize. Changing the soap dispenser or adding faux flowers in a vase can bring color and theme. These small embellishments work well when they coordinate with the color scheme of the towels or other existing elements. Since these are relatively inexpensive changes, you can gather different decorations for different seasons and interchange them as you please.

Do you have any other inexpensive design tips?

Cheers,

- Chet
