Home Tips After Hurricane Issac

I hope everyone and their property is doing well after Hurricane Isaac. Many of us had no electricity for days, so I wanted to post some easy tips on how you can clean up after this mess.

Chalk Dehumidifier

I was browsing online and came across Martha Stewart's ingenious idea of using chalk as a dehumidifier. If you have a small laundry room or closest that got a bit damp, this is the perfect solution for you. Clean up all the water and dry the space as best as possible with fans. After everything is dried, bundle up some chalk and hang it. The chalk will soak up additional moisture.

Remove Water Rings

This happens a lot, especially if you have kids who don't use coasters. This remedy can also work on some other water damage on the surface area of wood. All you have to do is use a hair blower on high heat and hold it fairly close to the stain. It might take a while, but you may see amazing results. Rub a bit of polish on the stain afterwards.

Easy Clean Microwave

If your microwave was dirty before the storm, the food is probably good and caked on now. The solution to this mess is to place a wet sponge in create steam. This will help loosen the food to remove it easier.
