Don't let the big smile and clean cut fool ya, this Louisiana native can bench press nearly two times the amount of the average man, all while picking out color palettes and patterns for your living quarters!
Chet Pourciau, owner of Chet Pourciau Design located on a cute and quaint corner of Magazine street was born in New Iberia. He got his start in design while attending University of Louisiana at Lafayette and Delgado Community College where he received an Associates of Arts degree in Interior Design. While in school, Pourciau was also a personal trainer and into professional body building.
Pourciau's personal taste consists of neudes, neutrals and greys, in which you can find throughout his own home. When designing for clients, Pourciau says he likes to bring out their inner designer in what he calls "Design Therapy." Pourciau doesn't like to change things, but rather give customers a sense of serenity and clarity.

Father's Day Painted Mugs
I went to the craft store the other day and found that all the glass and porcelain paint was on clearance. What perfect timing! This is a fun activity to do yourself or with kids. The mug shown below is by Adam Tarbah who is a 10 year old who painted his mug for his father.
These mugs are dishwasher and microwave safe. Follow these instructions to make your own painted mugs.
What you will need:
- A mug (I bought mine on sale for $1)
- Porcelaine 150 paint ($5 at the craft store)
- Paint brushes
- An oven to bake your mugs
Paint the surface of the mug. You can paint porcelain, metal, terracotta, ceramic and earthenware with the paint I bought. BUT make sure you read the instructions for the specific paint you buy.
Let the paint dry for 24 hours and then place in a cold oven and set oven to 300 degrees. When oven has reached the temperature, allow to bake for 35 minutes, then open oven door and allow to cool.
