Join the YaYa Movement!

If you missed it this morning, my new segment on ABC 26’s Good Morning New Orleans aired highlighting the artwork of the kids of YaYa, Inc. (Young Aspirations/Young Artists). The organization is about 20 years old, and gives local kids an opportunity to create artwork which they later sell and use the profits to develop college funds for the participants.

Host Anna Adair and myself visited Helm Paint for this segment to show you how to make beautiful mosaic tiles and use your creative skills to upcycle chairs by painting them in the same manner as the YaYa kids. The tiles are great to make as gifts or to decorate your home with…and our one of a kind painted chair idea is a great way to add pizzazz to your home while keeping eco-friendly and inexpensive. Make sure you use Aura paint, one of the greenest around, when painting your chairs and you can find it at Helm Paint.

Crib Crashing the Eclectic Home of Bryan Batt!

The long awaited first segment of Crib Crashers on ABC 26’s Good Morning New Orleans has debuted! Watch as host Anna Adair and I take over SAG award winning actor Bryan Batt’s home in search of fun and inspired design.

You can really see that Bryan’s New Orleans heritage is present throughout his design scheme as he includes pieces that have unique character and infusion of the local flavor. Some highlights are his original brick flooring stamped with plantation initials, an extremely lifelike dog sculpture, and a distinctive bar setup and collection of glassware.
