This month, we are focusing on giving back to the community!  New Orleans Saint Thomas Morstead will be with to talk about his organization What You Give Will Grow. The Audubon Zoo's Youth Volunteer Coordinator Stephanie Joseph will give us a preview of some wonderful events coming up at the zoo. For our Design Time and DIY segments, Michiel Dop of Dop Antiques and Architecturals will show us how to refinish a picture frame and I've got some great DIY tips for your home decor!

DIY Easter Baskets for Everyone in the Family

DIY Plaster Easter Nest

All you need for this project is:

• Plaster of Paris
• A round bowl 
• Plaster wrap 
• Zip lock bag 
• Water 
• Scissors

Wrap plastic wrap around a bowl

Mix plaster and water in a zip lock bag according to manufacturer’s instructions. 

Cut the corner of the zip lock and make your nest design. Plaster dries quite quickly, so it’s best to do this step as quick as you can. 

Let your nest dry overnight. 

Spray paint desired color. When dry, add decorative grass and eggs.

Voila!

DIY Spring Wreath

Since it's almost spring, I had to take down the Mardi Gras wreath and replace it with something fresh. I already made two other spiral deco mesh wreaths in the past for other holidays, but they are so easy to make and the make a HUGE statement. Check out my previous post for make your own! CLICK HERE
